Sample collection instructions for FIT kit. (version 1, last reviewed 22.07.2019)

Please note that it is ESSENTIAL to label both the collection device and the green sample bag as instructed:

 - first name and surname and date of birth on the device, and

 - full name, date of birth and sample date on bag.

Inadequately labelled samples cannot be tested and a repeat will be required.

 

Samples in faecal pots/ Universals are no longer accepted. Please contact Pathology if a FIT kit is required.

Test information

Please note this test is not currently UKAS accredited.

Reference range

Normal faeces reported as negative.

If result is positive, NICE recommends a referral for an appointment within 2 weeks.
