● Clotted blood (gold cap, 5 mL tube) or

● EDTA blood (purple cap, 4 mL tube)

Smaller tubes are available for paediatric samples.

  • EIA: HIV, hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV)

Please state if the request is for the recipient or donor of the body fluid exposure as this affects which tests will be performed.

Donor: HIV Ag/Ab, HBsAg, anti-HCV

Recipient: anti-HBs & serum save

Tests may be added depending on risk factors for the donor. Please state all relevant clinical information.
