  • PCR for HSV1, HSV2, chlamydia trachomatis, varicella-zoster virus, adenovirus.

For cases of suspected neonatal ophthalmia please also request GC detection.

For samples such as vitreous fluids or for specific extra pathogen testing such as toxoplasma PCR or other viruses (CMV PCR/ EBV PCR), please make it clear on the request form or contact consultant virologist / virology clinical scientist.

  • Acanthamoeba PCR. A dry swab is need for Acanthamoeba PCR.
