Samples required |
Please bring samples to lab promptly. The aim is to get the correct dose of anti-D administered with 72 hours of a sensitising event. Samples should not be tested if they have been previously centrifuged. If results are required over the weekend, the sample will be referred to the NHS Blood and Transplant service. |
Test indications |
This test is performed on Rh D Negative patients following a positive Kleihauer test. |
Reference range |
Negative results reported as <2.2 mL bleed The laboratory will advise on additional anti-D requirement where necessary. Advice will be based on recommendations by British Society of Haematology (2009) “Guidelines for the Estimation of Fetomaternal Haemorrhage”. |
