Samples required |
Samples should be processed in the laboratory within 2 hours of venepuncture. A positive result may necessitate a reflex test requiring a ● clotted blood (gold cap, 5mL tube) to be sent for a HIT inhibitor sendaway assay. The laboratory will request this reflex sample if required. |

Referred by Haematology Department by agreement of consultant haematologist. Please contact Coagulation department on ext. 64306 (RSCH) or ext. 68201 (PRH), or on call biomedical scientist in Haematology if out of hours, before sending sample. |
