Requests for urgent sickle cell screening must be telephoned to the Haematology laboratory on x4711 during routine hours or the On Call Haematology Biomedical Scientist out of hours. Otherwise it will be assumed that the test is non urgent and will have a haemoglobinopathy screen that includes the sickle cell status (turn around time 3 working days). |
