● Clotted blood (gold cap, 5 mL tube). Smaller tubes are available for paediatric samples. Bring to lab immediately on ice (sample must be spun, separated and frozen within two hours of being drawn). |

Investigation of C1 inhibitor deficiency. C4 is measured on all C1 inhibitor requests. Sample will only be referred for C1 inhibitor if C4 is less than 0.2 g/L. |
