Factors affecting test performance/ results |
Haemolysis and/or icterus may interfere. Amitriptyline and imipramine show a significant negative interference (≥ 10 %). There is the possibility that other substances and/or factors may interfere with the test and cause unreliable results. In very rare cases, gammopathy, in particular type IgM (Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia), may cause unreliable results. Results should always be assessed in conjunction with the patient’s medical history, clinical examination and other findings. |
