EDTA blood (purple cap/ yellow cap ring, 4 mL tube). Smaller tubes are available for paediatric samples.

48h to steady state.

Therapeutic range (pre-dose) 5 - 15 µg/L*

* This range is used to flag high and low results on WinPath, however the renal physicians use a sliding reference range depending on the time since transplant, the condition of the patient and renal graft function.

Reference ranges may vary for other transplant types and if samples are referred for continuity for analysis by other methods.

Turnaround time

Run daily (Monday to Friday). Samples must be in lab by 11am to be included on run.

Please contact lab on ext.64137 before 11am if results are needed same day but sample is likely to miss the deadline - it may be possible to hold the batch if we know an urgent sample is coming.
