Test information |
Neonatal screening IRT's are sent directly by wards and midwives and are not handled by Biochemistry. Blood spots (on Guthrie card) can occasionally be referred via Biochemistry if IRT is required to aid diagnosis in a symptomatic patient (i.e. not as part of routine screening), but note that this is not routinely available once the child has reached 6 weeks of age.
