Factors affecting test performance/ results |
Erroneous findings may be obtained from samples taken from patients with human anti-mouse antibodies (e.g. due to treatment with monoclonal mouse antibodies or use in diagnostic procedures). In very rare cases, gammopathy, in particular type IgM (Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia), may cause unreliable results. Results should always be assessed in conjunction with the patient’s medical history, clinical examination and other findings. |
